So yeah. Second draft. Still very rough. If you like absurdism, dark humor and, well, those two things, give it a go. You can see art from Branches if you click the "Branches Off Semmelrogg" label under the "Projects" tab.
I forgot to do the first captures for this project. It started off as line art, then had 5 solid, cell like shading areas (sort of like you can see on the neck of the first one), then I used a soft brush to meld everything together, then did color glazing. I wanna experiment with other brush types, perhaps not for the skin but for hair and clothes.
Doesn't he have lovely teeth. Read all about my fae story here (http://mrpchars.blogspot.com/2012/01/fae.html) and Mearle specifically here (http://mrpchars.blogspot.com/2011/12/mearle.html). Wards are the plants and charms used to keep unwanted spirits away. In the first chapter of this story a ward is snatched up by a crow, allowing Mearle to creep onto a human's property.
If you don't click big the lines look all ugly.
